Day 10 - Post Fast
36 Hour Water Fast?

I felt really bloated all day yesterday after my hearty breakfast. With two pairs of my jeans now out of comission (too big!) I've been happily wearing my size 12 jeans that I bought a year and half ago. I was the heaviest I'd been in a long time when I bought them so it's amusing that they are my current favorite pair again. Anyway, those felt snug all day yesterday and I vowed that if I gained weight I would do a water fast to flex my dicipline muscles again. I did gain weight: 2.5 lbs! So I water fasted all day yesterday. It was challenging, espeically in the evening when I prepared a cherry dump cake for my sister's birthday. I found the experience amusing. I very recently accomplished a 30 day fast. And now a one day water fast was uncomfortable?! Just goes to show that the dicipline muscle gets weak like any other muscle if it isn't used enough. Now I don't want to slow down my metabolism any more than it already is so I won't embark on any long fasts for awhile but one or two day fasts shouldn't do anything more but flex that muscle and hopefully let my body catch up on foods when it's had enough of digesting. I went to bed feeling very good about not eating anything or even having some fruit juice. I was craving grapefruit juice!
