Day 11 - Post Fast

I still haven't eaten but it's only noon here. I really wanted to do only one day of water fasting but I wonder if my new goal should be to fast when I gain weight and continue until I have lost whatever amount I gained. Today I weigh 153.5, which is a 1.5 lbs weight gain since completing my fast 10 days ago. Of course I realize the body fluctuates a bit but my real goal is to nip things in the bud when they happen. We all know a couple pounds doesn't really nake that much difference but when you keep ignoring it, isn't it amazing how months later you're staring at the 20+ pounds and thinking, how did I let this happen?! Pound by pound is how.
I can see now that I wasn't ready for a lifestyle change before now. Things were too hectic. This process takes a lot of time, thinking, planning, screwing up and experimenting. For the most part I'm enjoying the journey and love my jump start with the fast I started 40 days ago. I would love to incorporate fasting into my lifestyle but I'm worried that it will continue to slow my metabolism. I don't want that. And I never want to use fasting for binge & purge reasons. No, No No. But as a way to reign myself in, to flex my dicipline muscle, to compensate for an ounce of cheese. Yes, yes yes!
