As long as you don't feel a "need" to eat, (brain fog, lethargic) - and that you are truly sleeping well...I would say you are in healing mode. (Remember, I'm no doctor, or professional expert)
A need to sleep DOES go along with the healing process - it is natural. Pain in the gut, if the gut needs to heal, would be a natural, too.
IF it were me, and the pain was something I could deal with by simply sleeping more, I'd sleep more.
BTW, I know I've read in more than one place that the body seems to have an optimal time for healing, during the natural sleep cycle...and that time seems to be from 10:00pm to 2:00am.
Having said that, when the body is healing from something MAJOR, sleep is a natural.
Don't feel guilty about extra sleep right now. You need it.
