Boy, do I know about waking up to pee again and again all night!
If you all will excuse me jumping in here with a guess...
...The ONLY thing that has helped my urinary difficulties, after years of bother, is substituting brown rice for all wheat. (Other glutinous grains, too, but wheat seems to be the biggie.)
I reported the amazing difference in the Urinary Frequency forum, at the time I discovered it helped.
Since then I have eaten bread, or pie, from time to time, and suffered the urgency difficulties all over again.
One CureZone poster has suggested that short-grain brown rice is better than long-grain...I don't know why. Mine has always been long-grain.
Someone else mentioned that rice should be fresh, and kept in the refrigerator...as it goes rancid. I haven't gotten into that, yet.
Another suggestion has been to take IP6, which is the polishings off brown rice. I haven't, yet, but I have considered sucking raw brown rice, just for that benefit.
However, I think that it is EATING wheat; bread, piecrust, soda crackers, and the like; that disagrees with me most, and causes me much distress. (Other suspects are sugar, iodized salt, and MSG/Aspartame.)
It is so simple to cook up a pot of brown rice every two or three days and use it for my basic carb. I'll be buying wholesome brown rice cakes, too...for use as a 'bread'.
I've noticed a reduction in strength of my 'core' muscles in recent years. This seems connected to the urinary problem, so I am back to Kegel exercises. (Kegel exercises are practicing the control of you urine flow, stopping and starting it midstream. You can also do them - dry - while seated, at your desk, anywhere. No one can tell. :) )
I do hope there is something here for you, Iptumu.
My very best,
Fledgling
