Six months and the pneumonia is hanging in there and she's still seeing the same practitioner? My disrespect for the medical establisment becomes crystal clear as I explain I would have that dr "practicing" on somebody besides myself !!
I agree with all said about not flushing now. It's not some magical bullet that is going to get rid of pneumonia. A holistic lifestyle, healing the body will though.
Under these circumstances, you sister has 2 choices, IMO, a holistic practitioner who can aide her in making choices that will feed her lungs as she detoxes or making an all out effort to educate herself.
Even allopathics told young mothers back in the 70s "no milk products" when the kids had a cold, that it caused thickening of the mucus involved. Sister needs to avoid all milk, even in processed foods like chocolate.
White sugar is NEVER an answer to getting better, it is poison to the body. What the body is craving is glyconutrients and minerals. Glyconutrients are found in raw fruits and veggies .. when sick, preferrably in the juice of fruits and veggies. Fruits and veggies are full of minerals. One can supplement minerals naturally with things like black-strap or sorghum molasses, organic maple syrup/the darker the better or honey; any of these will give minerals plus sugars that her body can use.
Do i recommend that she get off the antibiotics? Not just cut it out!! She needs knowledge to do this safely ... if it was my sister, I'd be finding her a GOOD holistic practitioner. You can ask in the supplement section of the healthfood store for suggestions. Most healthfood stores these day have seminars and the folks working there know who the best practitioners in the area are.
Suggestions for kinds of practitioners:
chinese herbalist - look for OCM degree
herbalist - look for Master Herbalist degree
naturopathic doctor - ask around for recommendations, some are good, some aren't so good
ayurvedic - ancient Indain (country of) medicine
All of these believe in healing the body as a whole, not treating symptoms. They will know how to support her injured lungs while she gets clean blood that can heal her lungs.
