Hi. I am on day 10 and am headed for 20.
Week has been crazy. Basement flooded on day 5. Had really bad headache on day 6, but that may not have been the fast :) Many hours of no sleep but stayed the course.
I started the cleanse because I lost 40 lbs without trying since Thanksgiving. You guessed it, my blood
Sugar was very high. Many times it was checked, it was in the 400s. Highest I ever saw it was 498. I wanted to see what the cleanse would do before I was placed on diabetes meds.
Here are the blood
Sugar levels I got when I checked. I test more than once on some days.
Day before - 463
Day 2 - 356
Day 4 - 190, 223
Day 7 - 152, 149
Day 8 - 93
Day 9 - 91, 161
Day 10 - 97, 122
I don't know what will happen when I go off the cleanse, but I hope they stay stabilized. Type II diabetics are only insulin resistant, so maybe I have eliminated the stuff that was making me resistant.
The next result I received was unexpected. I have never heard of this. On day 7 my glasses are too strong. I got up that morning and put in my contacts as usual. My right eye was a little blurry. I figured the contact just hadn't laid good against my eye well and would seat itself within a few minutes. When I got to work, the computer monitor was a little fuzzy. I feared the worst. I figured the high blood sugars had damaged my eyes and it caught up with me. Later that night when I was in bed, I removed the contacts. I was able to see the guide on the TV better than I could with my contacts in. I usually have to put on my glassed to see the guide after my contacts are out. So, I put on my glasses (same prescription for more than 3 years) and it made it harder to read the guide. Since then I have not worn my glasses or contacts since they make my vision worse. I still need corrective lenses, but I have to get to the doc to get a new prescription. I see well enough without glasses now to get by, but I like seeing crisply.
I do worry/wonder when I get off the cleanse that my eyes will return to what they were. Don't know why the vision changed, so who knows what will happen. Anyone ever had such a dramatic change in vision from a fast? I know it is not blood
Sugar related since I have only had sugar problems for a few months and had the same prescrition for several years.
I sleep much better at night now and have very strong dreams. By strong I mean very emotional. I wake up in a good mood though.
Good luck to anyone trying the fast. Stay the course. I definately is changing me!
