My daughter has seen 3 dentists and they are suggesting 7 root canals and we would have to put her under for 3 hours to do this! I live in Canada (Ontario) and I have searched for an alternative dentist and cannot find one. Please help me, I do not want to put her through this and beleive that there is better solutions, I just know what to do. Thanks kindly, Meena
I have never heard of root canals for such a young person. I hope that you are able to stop the refined sugars now - I mean all those hidden nastys in food as well.
Does your toddler suck on any thing all day long? that is sugary?
All the while your teeth are in contact with Sugar for longer than 20-30 mins with out brushing or cleaning, does not allow time for your system to get ph balanced naturally.
If you can get the little one to rinse/gargle their mouth out with a weak version of schulze tooth and gum formula and then massage their gums a bit, then this will strenghten the immune system, and some healing may happen over night.Maybe you both do it at the same time? then they will trust you more maybe? think about it.
I don't know a source for a holistic dentist but you may want to take a look at http://www.uncleharrys.com.
He started his website when he began having tooth problems himself and came across an aryuvedic recipe for a tooth powder. His website is chock-full of information on natural methods for taking care of dental issues. One I read recently involves swishing sesame oil in the mouth for a few seconds after getting up in the morning which indian clinical studies prove removes toxic bacteria from the mouth.
My wife and I use his tooth powder everyday and will never use regular toothpaste
again. Recently my wife went to her dentist for a teeth cleaning and they said there was no point as she had no plaque! Hope this helps.
I have done the oil swishing thing too. it is good to keep bacteria down and any pain in the gums. My dentist just made a note of impecable gums, but the time she never bothered to ask how I was doing it.
If I get gum pain/trouble then I follow it with 'tooth and gum formula' massage and rinse well after 10 mins approx.
Iodine effective against CARIES in young children //www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1154874#i
If your child can gargle, put some Iodine and let her do it. Soak teeth for a few mins, 2-3 times daily, especially after meals and before bed. That's what I did for my daughter. She also had a few tooth decay starting at age 2. Alternatively, get the waterpik and put Iodine in it.
I as a child was always given Sea Salt to brush my teeth when we had any infection, sometimes even without infections. Also oil swishing will help. Another thing is CoQ10 and Vitamin C combination will eliminate the deepest infections. However, I do not know if young ones can take CoQ10. Please research on that.
As one poster said above, please do not give your child any sugary stuff. That means corn syrup laden junk foods. If you have to use Sugar in foods that you make at home you can substitute Sugar with Stevia.
I can't advise on the dental care, but regarding the decay in the first place, have you checked your child for gluten insensitivity/celiac disease? It is more common that previously thought, one in 133 have it. Can result in unexplained tooth decay as well as other serious problems if undetected. You doctor can start with a simple blood test.
I see your post is years old, but I thought I would post anyway. My daughter and I have Hashimotos, hypothyroid. I do alot of research trying to find cure, my daughter had 8 fillings by 3 years old. Hardly any sugar. I have read that a child with low thyroid, is susceptible to many cavities in baby teeth. Dentists don't know that and neither do Doctors. Can't find article. Might be a good idea to have TSH,
free T3, free T4 and antibodies checked.
