There is nothing to be proud of cause in your ignorance you are propagating a dangerous practice of STARVATION!!! and to make matters worse the ingestion of Aspartme which all you hafta do is just do a little research and you'll find there are just lots of "scientifically" documented cases and studies of the problems it has cause THOUSANDS of people.

The findings come from eight years of collecting data by Sharon P. Fowler, MPH and colleagues. The results of the study was reported at the 65th Annual Scientific Sessions of the American Diabetes Association in San Diet on June 10-14, 2005 (Abstract 1058-P). While this study, by itself, does not prove that aspartame causes weight gain, it adds to the evidence seen in independent research. For example, a study conducted by Dr. H.J. Roberts found that 5% of subjects reporting symptoms from aspartame also reported a "paridoxic weight gain." (Reactions Attributed to Aspartame-Containing Products: 551 Cases," Journal of Applied Nutrition, Volume 40, page 85-94). Lavin found that females with eating restraint had a higher Calorie intake subsequent to aspartame intake as opposed to sugar or water intake. (Lavin, J.H., S.J. French, N.W. Read, 1997. That is just the tip of the iceberg read all the other studies and dangers of Aspertame they have found.
As in my other post I want to urge any others reading this and considering fasting to research and not just take mine or anybody elses word for it. Not just water fasting. You have other like the Master Cleanse. Juice fasting etc What these women are doing with this diet drink garbage is not "fasting" by any stretch of the imagination. They are starving themselves. There is a vast difference between the working mode and effects between fasting and starving.
These women are consuming a known, "scientifically documented" dangerous chemical and other chemical garbage the will not allow the system to go into fasting mode where the body will use fat and things it doesn't need whereas in starvation the body starts consuming vital organ tissue so a good portion of any weight loss will come from your vital organs and muscle. Do your research this is all documented and extensive studies not only have been done by the holistic community but also by the scientific and medical community to the point that nowadays you will find many articles by the mainstream medical community extolling the virtues of "real fasting".

I'm not an extremist on any side of the coin. All these things that are being pointed out to help others from trying this and hurting themselves comes mostly from plain ole common sense with a side order of researchable and documented facts both from the scientific community and the holistic community and last but not least YEARS of personal experiences.
What has alarmed many very knowledgeable and experienced people that have both years of study personal experience and the learning from sharing information on forums like this I would say is the length of time she did it for and as even you acknowledge that Aspartame is a dangerous substance. What you are also failing to grasp whether you agree on it's dangers or not is that this was being consumed on a daily basis with nothing to buffer its absorption into the system going straight to the blood stream. The other very dangerous thing she was doing in not consuming enough fluids at a level that is not even suitable for somebody her weight even under normal everyday conditions which just about guarantees dehydration and yes absolutely STARVATION.
You are harping on this "it's all liquids" misconception. So by your definition if you put a fish in a blender a la Dan Akroyds famous SNL skit "the Popeil Bass-o-Matic" blender and turned it into a liquid it would be perfectly fine to use it for fasting being a liquid and all huh?. Puleez that is just simply ridiculous.
The aspartame was just the glaring chemical that we all saw but there were all kindsa other crap in that drink. In one of the other posts somewhere along in these discussion somebody else broke it down to all the other chemicals and explained their adverse effects Again we are talking 65 DAYS!!!!! of consuming nothing but this crap everyday at liquid volume rates less than minimal levels forcing the system to suck up every bit of it to keep itself hydrated. The effects of most of these garbage chemicals is cumulative and when there is nothing else in the system to buffer its absorption it's going to all be stored in the system (most likely the liver and kidneys) at rates that would be way way waaaaay higher than when these things are taken in with solids and other elements that would buffer it's absorption. If she had even done some lax tea or SWF everyday to help wash the stagnation of both these nasty chemicals and the body's natural excretion of toxins into the eliminating organs it might have been somewhat better.
Now we get into the fasting and the metabolism. Just because of the length alone her metabolism has got to be at an all time low. Add dehydration and starvation. For some other person that reads this that may not have the constitution or maybe have some other internal known or unknown problems doing something this extreme drinking this crap and all of the other factors described it could cause complications bad enough to cause someone's death. So I will reiterate again :
TO ANYONE READING ABOUT THIS PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT TRY THIS INSANE FORM OF STARVATION. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS. WHEN THE BODY IS STARVING AND DEHYDRATED IT WILL START USING VITAL ORGAN TISSUE FOR ENERGY. YOU WILL NOT ONLY LOOSE MUSCLE BUT YOUR VITAL ORGANS WILL ALSO BE AFFECTED. THE HEART IS A MUSCLE!!!. DO YOUR RESEARCH READ THE LINKS THAT SOME OF US HAVE POSTED DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH FIND OUT HOW FASTING ACTUALLY WORKS AND HOW TO DO IT SAFELY.
Did you ignore the part about volume to weight????Do your research. There is nothing to "debate" it is all verifiable and backed up by documented research. What part of that is it that you are not getting??. Forget any debate simple common sense with tell you that you are NOT going to loose nearly 100lbs of only fat in 65 days by drinking crap. Just taint gonna happen!!!!. That is the real scary part of how much of that weight is muscle and vital organ tissue!!. Can you even begin to imagine what someones skin looks like after loosing nearly 100lbs in just 2 months!!!

There was absolutely nothing negative happening here other than presenting verifiable scientific and holistic FACTS so innocent people and many that come here with existing eating disorders already don't hurt themselves in ignorance of what people like you and those that responded trying to make light of a dangerous issue are propagating. The whole gist of every post stated and otherwise has been completly postive urging people not to take anybodys word including my own and do their own research and verify for themselves what is being said so they take the responsibility for themselves to LEARN not only be safe but how use fasting in a healthy succesful manner.
