I have had no contact or dealings with Dr. Lam. Therefore, nothing in this post is directly applicable to Dr. Lam or any other individual healthcare provider.
I too, have chronic insomnia. I too, am my wit's end at times. I too, recently had Ambien suddenly stop working for me. Small world, isn't it?
However, I question the relative effectiveness of a phone call, no matter how experienced or skilled the provider. The medical provider can not touch, or even see, the the patient. That's quite a handicap, don't you think?
Even a practioner of tradional Chinese medicine would usually require close physical proximity to the patient to access the body's meridians.
In my case, I believe that an imbalance in my neuro-transmitters is responsible for my insomnia. Frequently, with time, the neuro-transmitters rebalance themselves.
In the meantime I'm exploring self treatment with neuro-transmitters, amino acids, and herbs.
