I'm glad the taste didn't bother you, I guess I've been using so many different tinctures that the Eyebright is my least favorite tasting lol.
Wanted to tell you this morning when I got up I had what my mom always called "sleep" in my eyes. They weren't matted shut or anything but there was material scattered in my lashes and at the corner of my eyes, not bad just "there" but it was gone once I rubbed a hot washcloth over them. Its rare that I get any of that unless I've really strained my eyes so it must be the Eyebright doing its thang!! YAY!!!!!!!!! ;) ;) ;)
I can just see it folks... All of us gathered around a mess of reading glasses, arranging them artfully into a huge pyramid-shaped pile... Lighting the fire, spinning in circles, and doing the gratitude dance!....
Can you SEE it?!
--Bundles... running to grab the pair in my bathroom... and the pair in the other bathroom, and the pair in my purse, and oh yeahm the two in my crochet bag... and << pant pant >> the computer pair, and the two extra... << pant pant >>. this is a good workout....
Bundles you're my kinda gal!
I'm all for a eyeglass bonfire but I want pictures lol.
It'll take me days to finally round up all the pairs I have. Mine are strewn all over the house, in my car, everywhere. One time I found a pair in the linen closet in the bathroom I had been looking for all day, they were on top of the towels lol. I had left them there when I weighed that morning, can't have a pair of reading glasses adding more to the scale, lol. The trouble is sometimes I'll bring a pair in the house out of the car so that next time I don't have them with me, they aren't in the car either, so off to the store I go. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Its a pain in the butt for sure. Can't wait to see them all BURN!!!!
We'll have to wait until everyone's eyes are completely restored then we'll have a HUGE bonfire.
... and we can start a new fashion trend -- replacing the glasses hanging from our i'm-too-young-to-wear-these beaded eyeglasses holders we all have hanging around our necks with tastefully bedazzled eye cups.
That'd be a conversation starter! A good way to tell about restoring our eyes with Eyebright!
I've never had that eyeglass holder. Well I did buy one but the first time my son saw me with my glasses hanging from it he said I looked like a grandma type wearing my glasses hanging around my neck. So that was the last time I wore it lol.
>>>Would eyebright maybe help with outside infections like blepharitis...anyone know?<<<
Yes, yes...and YES again!! :)
For those that aren't familiar with "blepharitis", I've pasted some general definitions below. The Eyebright Formula (not just the herb Eyebright) should be extremely effective for any/all conditions such as blepharitis.
Time & time again we we see what a truly knowledgeable healer Dr. Christopher was. Most equate him with something like a "teddy-bear grandpa with herbal potions", but his research and knowledge-base was huge!
The herbal comination in the Eyebright formula leaves no stone left unturned in all aspects of healing the eyes; the herbs in the formula are known to:
Bayberry bark - reduce inflammation; reduce itching; increase circulation; antibacterial; antifungal; strengthens blood vessels and is an astringent - it also bolsters the immune & lymphatic systems
Eyebright herb - has been used for centuries to heal the eyes; it's a "specific" for conjunctivitis & blepharitis; reduces inflammation; itchiness & eyestrain of various kinds; reduces allergic responses; it's decongestant properies increase/improve circulation; it reduces intra-ocular pressure, and has antibacterial qualities
Goldenseal root - has a strong affinity for the mucous membranes and it's strong antibacterial (broad spectrum) and antiinflamatory are outstanding. It stimulates the immune system; increases fluid elimination; a strong 'detoxifier' (helping cells to detoxify themselves, too); by dilating surface blood vessels, it increases circulation (and circulation of the lymphatic system)
Red Raspberry leaf - this herb helps to reduce or eliminate macular degeneration; sharpen vision; reduce glare. It has strong anti-viral, anti-bacterial & antifungal properties; it is also an astringent and good for wounds & ulcerations of all types & soothes irritation in general. It cleanses mucous membranes and thins mucus secretions
Cayenne - increases & restores circulation (HUGE!), heals all kinds of 'wounds' (think: broken/damaged blood vessels in/behind the eye) and also has antibacterial qualities. The benefits are endless & very well known.
I guess the only question really is - when taken internally AND used as an eyewash...how could it NOT work?!!!
Healthiest of blessings,
Definitions of blepharitis on the Web:
Eyebright would absolutely help, its used to restore eyesight and get rid of any problem with the eyes really.
We use Dr. Christopher's original formula in tincture form. You fill an eyecup with distilled water then put whatever amount of drops you are comfortable with, building up the number of drops to increase the strength.
