Alinia OR Albendazole/Vermox combo?

I did a search for Alinia here and nothing much came up.
I have Lyme, Babesia, RMSF and it looks like I have some intestinal parasites. Treated Lyme and doing well, but suddenly have problems digesting foods, nausea, waking at dawn with pain near belly, nausea, some anal itching, alternating diarrhea and constipation. I had this when I first got sick. Lost alot of weight, itchy rashes near my liver and illeocecal valve, nausea etc...
My GI Dr just did stool sample and only found Endolimax Nana. I suspect more.
Question is whether I should try the Albendazole/Vermox combo OR Alinia.
It is my understanding that you do:
1. Vermox first (42 100mg tabs). How do you take this?
2. Albendazole (400mg 2x daily for 10 days). 4 weeks off then repeat for a total of 3 cycles.
OR
Alinia? Will Alinia get rid of all the parasites? At what dosage and for how long?
I am doing 3/4 teaspoon of Sea Salt in warm water 2x daily and vitamin C and that seems to help but produces some die-off. Can salt/c on it's own take care of everything?

Based on your symptoms, you might have a mixed co-infection of intestinal parasites.

This is a reply to # 1,570,868Where did you get the diagnosis of lyme and babesia? What is rmsf? And what care are you under for these?
Vermox and Albendazole are used for nematode (worm) infections where Alinia is typically used for protozoa infections. Though these are both considered parasites, they are different animals altogether and require different approaches.
The most logical thing to do is do proper testing, and the test to do is thru Metametrix (GI Effects Stool). There are other possibilites such as rogue bacteria and/or yeast/fungus issues. Each of these requires a different treatment protocol. - Re: Alinia OR Albendazole/Vermox com... DariushSweden

with albendazole the most important thing is to chew it into fine dust and take together with a fatty meal otherwise its not absorbed (I found a whole tablet in my poop before I started chewing it and it made all the difference).

Did your GI doctor prescribe Alinia (Nitazoxanide) to treat the Endolimax Nana culture?

Google AdvertisementThis is a reply to # 1,572,084My GI Dr. did a stool culture and the only result was E. Nana.
He then did a pill capsule test and found moderately severe reflux esophagitis. I was positive for H-Pylori and never treated in the past so I am going to do the triple therapy for two weeks: high dose Amoxycillin, Biaxin and Nexium and after that we will see where I am at.
I also did a Metametrix GI stool test which is very extensive and should show everything, yeast, parasites, etc...
Will check in after I get those results.
I am not on meds at the moment, just some anti-yeast measures like Caprilic acid and Culturelle 2 x daily and goats yogurt.
I still suspect parasites besides the H-Pylori bacteria and the Metametrix test should sort that out. It better, it cost $$$.
Thanks for everyone's help. It's a nightmare.
I seem to tolerate things like grass fed beef, fish and salads fine. Diarrhea has stopped after I started culturelle.
The whole Lyme/Babesia problem will also have to be treated again. I am still positive for RMSF which is Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. It seems to be chronic as I already treated once already.

You have so much going on! For a long time I thought I had Lyme...but I tested neg. Then again the tests here in Canada are supposed to be inferior.

This is a reply to # 1,572,232Please post the MM results if you can. So the Lyme was tested by traditional lab? I was concerned maybe you got this diagnosis by a questionable alternative method. Caprylic acid will kill protozoa off, not only the yeast.
Something you may consider is use a Rife device for the Lyme, there is a proven protocol for this, there is a video on youtube about someone's journey thru Lyme, and I am sure that there is a freq for the rmsf.

My blood tests all confirmed: Lyme, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Babesia, Mycoplasma, Cpn. It's very common for Lymies to have all these pathogens. One basically opens the door for all the others.
I do need to treat the parasites too. All Lymies are infested with Parasites.
Waiting on MM Stool results and will post.
