hey, what are your takes on fatigue after eating? are there any specific reasons why one would become drowsy after eating? I mean eating anything, it can be a few florets of raw broccoli or a whole meal with protein and all. so i dont think its food allergies. is it just that my body is soo taxed by any digestion that it has to partially shut down? this fatigue can last for hours! is there anything that anyone has found that has worked for them for this problem?
Sounds like rebound (reactive) hypoglycemia:
I recommend trying 200mcg chromium polynicotinate (not picolinate) 3 to 4 times daily with meals.
i thought there were only two forms of hypoglycemia acute and chronic where does rebound/reactive fit into it hv?
Two primary forms. There are other causes such as overdoing an insulin shot.
But rebound, reactive and acute (sudden onset) hypoglycemia are all names for the same thing. Medically it would be acute hypoglycemia. The general public usually refers to it as rebound or reactive hypoglycemia.
and this has to do with adrenal function?
Not reactive hypoglycemia. Reactive hypoglycemia involves a chromium deficiency. Hypoglycemia from adrenal dysfunction occurs when you do not eat instead of after eating.
the more I read the more I feel I have some adrenal deficiency, even symptoms that i thought were unrelated dating back years, seem to be tied into the adrenals somehow... i just did the flash light in the dark on the pupil test and my pupils definitely spasm and have a hard time staying constricted. then this morning when i woke up I tested my temp, three different time, one right after the other... they were all different readings. is this even possible? a faulty thermometer? i used a cheap digital one from cvs. ill pick up an old school glass one to be sure!
Yes, sounds like a bad thermometer. Glass is definitely the way to go.
