Hi Strong ~
Ref: Strongyloides & Filariasis Protocol ~ Albendazole, Ivermectin, & Doxycycline: http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1586882#i
Since you're having such a severe Herx reaction (parasitic die-off syndrome), suggest you stop taking the Ivermectin for now. I note the following in the protocol:
"Ivermectin Side Effects: When there is a heavy parasite burden, the first dose of Ivermectin might cause shortness of breath or abdominal discomfort. This is caused by parasitic die-off & the toxins they release. If extreme, stop dosage for 1-2 days & then resume. These effects subside with subsequent doses as the parasite burden decreases....Tips to relieve the Herxheimer reaction: http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1617480#i."
Change your parasite meds schedule as follows:
~~Take Albendazole in half doses (200mg), twice daily, for 14 days. Be sure to chew thoroughly & take with 40g fatty meal. See info in the protocol for high-fat food suggestions.
~~Rest your liver for 7 days. Then start Albendazole at the regular dosage, 400mg, twice daily, for another 14 days.
~~Rest your liver for 7 days. Then follow the regular meds schedule until your infection is cured.
After taking Albendazole for a couple of cycles, your parasite burden will be lessened, the Herx reaction will cease, & you'll be able to handle the Ivermectin. Start it in half-doses & gradually increase it to full doses.
If you're not already taking Doxycycline for your Lyme disease, start now & take for the 6 weeks noted in the protocol.
Hope this info helps you in your parasite battles.
Take care & keep us posted on your progress!
Cheers ~~ ICU
