My husband's elevated liver enzymes and cholesterol were what drove me to research and do liver cleanses. After we did 3 (or 4?) liver cleanses, his enzymes were normal, and the cholesterol readings had dropped dramatically. Years went by, we got lazy, now he's back to where he was, so we are now preparing to do the cleanses again. It sounds like you could benefit from providing your body with some digestive support between the cleanses. Here are some suggestions, in case you have not tried any: 1) Use Parazyme as a digestive enzyme with meals. The reason I use this one is because it contains butyric acid (smells foul, but is an excellent bile stimulant). 2) Take 1/2 or 1 tsp Epsom Salt
in 4 oz
room temp water 20 before meals. This is very therapeutic since it relaxes the bile ducts so bile can flow and aid digestion. If 1 tsp ES gives you the runs, take 1/2 tsp instead. By the way, I put the ES into empty gelatin caps so we don't have to taste it- yippee!
We also take 2 caps. Artichoke Extract (by Life Extension foundation) with the meals to further stimulate bile. Do not take the Artichoke Extract without taking the Epsom Salts
, since bile should not be stimulated before relaxing the ducts first. Later down the road, you can add Butyrex (butyric acid) to the meal for more bile stimulation and better digestion. Happy health to you!
