Just wanted to let everyone who's taking ALA know about a product I ran across today that seems pretty neat. It's called AOR R + SR Lipoic Acid. It's a sustained release version of lipoic acid, but it's in the "R" form or the more active form. It's supposed to last for 8-10 hours.
The best price I found was at BodyBuilding.com -- 90 caps for just under $30. I prefer to order from Amazon, but over there it was $45 for just 60 caps.

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,850,517Haven't used it yet -- just ordered some though. It should be here no later than Monday.
Of course, I don't have much to compare it to since I've only taken regular ALA 1 day (had an allergic reaction to something else while taking it, but at the time, I wasn't sure what I was reacting to).

This is a reply to # 1,850,983This is the active, "R" form of Lipoic Acid, which is supposed to be more biologically available. Just got it today (2 days after ordering!) so I haven't used it yet, but some of the old-timers around here used to swear by the R form of this stuff.- Re: Lipoic Acid Product that Looks G... This is a reply to # 1,851,190I remember Andy Cutler said use the ALA, and it doesn't make a difference if you use the R version.
About the slow rlease thing, you have to really trust the company because it's not easy to make the SR.
I personally trust Jarrow Formulas 100%, anyway let us know when you try it :)
I still can't take ALA because it hasn't been 3 months yet.

Here is a post I remember from Andy in which he specifically warns to not use R-ALA. There was at least one or more other posts from him where he advised against the use of time-released chelators / mobilizers / chelators

This is a reply to # 1,851,416Cutler warns against a lot of stuff that real life people seem to have success with. I specifically remember several people here on CZ who couldn't take regular ALA and had good success with the R version.
