You can make a live bread out of raw peanuts that is suppose to taste better than any grain bread, but I have not tried this as of yet! All grains may taste good when manipulated with heat and manufacturing, etc. but they all also create an acid system. I too was raised on bread and dairy and our taste buds love what we were raised on. If you eat bread, whole grain bread or even better yet, sprouted grain bread is the better choices.
Idealy fruit diet is best, but what ever foods we crave as we learn more and accept that most foods are bad for our health, we can and we mostly will still consume the foods we were raised upon, BUT, when ill, the cheapest method and best method is to return to the foods we were created to eat, raw fresh fruits.
It is not wise to torture your self over foods, it is best to remove that food from your body within 12 hours to avoid rotten food that stinks when it comes out. Modify slowly and NEVER condem yourself, if youe binging on bad foods is it because your lacking enough organic minerals and your body is seeking minerals from the wrong foods.
Hopefully I am laid off after Monday and I will finish up a formula I made last Winter that supplies all the body wants and creates a NO CRASH / No HUNGER method that makes fasting as easy as 123 and if a person desired to ignore food forever they probably could acheive it and eventually even forget the herbs if they made the effort to obey the rules of the Sun and Nature.
Many people lived on bread and milk for over 150 years even in the USA, but the breads were of whole grains and the milk soured.
