some of you might know my penchance for the flu virus....my achilles heel.....the chink in my armour.
i have tried everything.....a list too long to type....
echinecea n goldenseal...vit d...chinese herbs...oranges til my mouth was ate up......the flu shot(decades ago before i was enlightened)....12 herb hepc combo(extremely strong immune riser).....rife freqs. from my $6000 light-the strongest on made.
everybody elses remedies...all of them...for DECADES.....every single one believe me all the way to eating mouthfuls of garlic.
i can't say for sure that FOR ME any of them really helped.
i get the flu 3-8 X a year n it lasts 3-14 DAYS.....for me its weakness n body aches.....i'm around someone w/a cold---comes ouit in me in body aches n weakness....couch n tv weakness.....n sleep.
anyway the lights out deal for me is mega vit c doses....5,000mgs PER EVERY WAKING HOUR!!!!
u cannot eat that many oranges and ascorbic acid is fine u don't need to overpay w/some fancy C.
i tell u at the first sign of it(whatever it is for you) you start HAMMERING IT.
i set a timer(you are spacy when u are coming down w/flu)
i keep i handy w/water....right there next to me.
it has been lights out for flu and has SAVED MY BUTT!!!!!!
probably in the LONG RUN it will save my life....i always figured flu was what would get me some OLDER day.
i throw some lysine in w/it 2x a day.
i take C n lysine everyday for arteries anyway and am raising my amount to 5,000 C 500 lysine 2x day to help ward it off in first place.
i tell you this is the ANSWER.

Hi boatman,
You can't argue with what works to get rid of the flu/cold, but have you thought of trying something to not get them in the first place?
For someone who hasn't had either for decades, it's hard to fathom getting either as much as you do.
Just a couple of suggestions.
The first is to get a kit for checking your house for molds. They are found on the internet. The reason is mold can make you feel those same symptoms. They are easy to use. Comes as a small petri dish that you set out where you spend the most time in the house, open it up and just let it set for a certain length of time. Then put the lid back on and send it to the lab from where you bought it for the results of the test.
I did this when I was having 4, or 5 sinus infections a year. Mine came back negative for mold, but before I had thousands of dollars worth of dental work done, and eliminated a few root canals, and had all the amalgam replaced, I thought it was a good idea to go through the process of elimination for causes. https://startpage.com/do/metasearch.pl?query=home+mold+testing+kits&cat=w...
The second suggestion is that colds and flu usually enter the body through some orfice in the body like the ears, nose, mouth.
Get some Colloidal Silver. [Dq's friend "Ben" makes a good one] put it in a dropper, and spray bottle to put in your ears, spray up your nostrils, and gargle some for a period of time to see if it helps. As I recall CS kills something like 650 bacteria and viruses. Or you could just do it at the first sign of one coming on. This is what I do.

I have much empathy for someone who deals with such reocurring symptoms.
I'm an herbalist with 40+ years experience. May I ask you a question? Are you sure it's truly influenza that you're dealing with? It sounds like something more chronic and deeper into the constitutional makeup. Perhaps I can give you some direction.

i get it when its going around....and can usually trace it to contact w/one person who has it....
i have spent years on this.....been to the best homepopath i know of...jack garvy in st augustine....---40+ years experience and very successful in treatment and otherwise.....he correctly diagnosed a cavitation in my jaw.
getting that cleaned out got rid of the bronchitis i was getting over n over--thats gone....(i never smoked)
if i had an extra 20K$ i would take out the remaining mergury amalgum filings and change out my crowns to compatible.
maybe.....garvy says my mouth is not a source of problem anymore as tested....his manualy adjusted (constantly) electro-homeo machine is light years ahead of the just-hook-u-up one-size-fits-all equipment other people use.......i've talked to his cancer cured people...i have to believe him.

my western herbalist is celia avetible in melbourne,fl at the herb corner--- she is very experienced also....just like you....i have alot of fresh western herbs for immune system.
my girlfriend is a 5-element acupuncturist/chinese herbalist and that does help some.
the mega vit c just seems to be the answer....has been LIGHTS OUT.....absolutely everytime so far....has knocked it out at first sign....and believe me i know what the signs are....
but i'm all ears for a suggestion from you!

This is a reply to # 1,897,484Vitamin D is by far the best supplement to avoid being sick.
Numerous studies have shown that it is more potent than vaccines, remedies, drugs, in the prevention of diseases, especially virus like influenza.
It is cheap and good for health.
Take 5000 IU a day all the year long, and if you get sick, you will be sick 2 days, maybe 3 and that's all.

Wouldn't that depend on what form of "C" you were taking?
Intravenous, or liposomal which bypass the digestive system, and go directly into the blood stream?

and have hammered it when coming down with this...which is obviuosly to me a virus.

Just one more comment . . . Any herblist worth their weight should be able to help you with noticeable improvement within the first 3 weeks. If not, then they're doing something wrong. And, unlike some forms of regimen, you shouldn't have to take herbs forever all the time. A proper herb regimen will cause the body to heal itself and then you don't need the herbs any longer for that particular problem.
