Hmmmm I have this for about 3 months and got it from excessive chapstick for sure. I have been using a lot of chapstick and the thing is chapstick tricks your body to beleive that the surface is just fine and your body doesn't make more cells as it suppose to do...and I have left them alone for about 2 weeks now and I notice the crusts getting less thicker.

In addition I have not applied anything I mean ANYTHING....no vasaline if they feel dry I just use my napkin. I have a very clean napkin which I went it with water and after making sure it is damp or even wet I just lightly press it against my lips to make is much more humid...I think the summer heat is helping too anyways it might not look 100% but it looks like chapped lips

Yeah sorry I meant a simultaneous approach in the order of X+Y+Z ! yep it's difficult to ascertain the severity of these EC patients .. But ARE Diagnosed with EC...Nonetheless... So there's hope! Maybe like the autoimmune condition hypothyroidism, there's Definite hypothyroidism and also a border background hypothyroidism...diagnosis.

Isn't there something like 30 odd autoimmune conditions? I discovered the for the first time where my thymus gland and "seat of immunity is ." It's in the upper Mid chest area... The first gland to develop in the foetus and responsible for "educating and training of the immune system". But still relatively unresearched!!!!

Like the appendix it was deemed not to have an ongoing function or purpose. What's interesting is that it's largest untill puberty thereafter it atrophys ie gets smaller...Thus thought to be a redundant organ after this..But recently discovering it does have a continuing role in the way of "immune surveyllance.. " Perhaps other roles with more research will be discovered.

Someone was asking about injections in a thread..? well Thymus extract is one to boost severly impaired immune systems probably those With HIV? But as yet it's a gland which in light of the increased incidence of autoimmune disease - and heredity factor- Is now being more closely looked at!

What struck me was this was also a good example of how emotions and stress can have ongoing health repercussions, and there's a specific organ the thymus gland which can be measured in due of this.

Post mortems of men of the same age range were examined and the size of the thymus Noted and compared. Soldiers in the war zone who had endured physical and mental stress in combat and killed in battle were upon postmortem had significantly smaller thymus glands than the
average man. But the same size as those men who died on home turf through chronic disease..

It's also noted that soldiers returning albeit alive but with emotional wounds have gone on to a catalogue of health repercussions. These guys
thymus glands through stress may be predisposed to physical illness..

It's of note that this condition has been linked to psychological health. Is this a chicken and egg situation - what came first - ec then anxiety or the
visa versa? But the thymus and the relatively unknown roles it plays either way going to at some stage be effected? Is there a mechanism
somewhere? in the immune response and related to EC that Borders on an autoimmune.../ immune health condition thus accounting for different levels of severity?

Could this account for why it returns under stress as does flare ups in multiple sclerosis which is an autoimmune disease..

What factors make this worse for people and therein Lay the answer?
