Most people here are either going down the wrong road to recovery, such as doing the wrong diet, or chasing the dragon, such as thinking the have parasites, their adrenals have burned out, or that candida has over-taken their bodies and causing all their problems.
After posting on here for a while, doing a lot of research, and observing the people who got well and the one's that never seem to, I've concluded the two biggest problems people here suffer from are:
1 - not getting enough calories
2 - diets too high in fat & not enough carbs (low-carb)
Natway i have followed your posts and find them to be very interesting. I have found that I do a lot better on a low meat diet despite years doing the opposite in an attempt to boost adrenal function and raise zinc levels (to off set copper toxicity). Low and behold I was over burdening my liver. Even taking digestive enzymes didnt give me the clear / healthy feeling I have from rice, vedgetables and yes fruit predominate diets.
Whats more I observed something last night that had never really clicked before. My girlfriend made a lovely spag bol last night full of rich mince as you may have guessed. I was hungry an hour later. You know the same kind of hunger that you may get after an indian or chinese meal out (some blame MSG). Anyway the point being last week I ate only rice, vedgetables and fruit with good fats (butter, olive oil). Guess what - no hunger pangs and no hypoglycemic episodes in the night from lack of protein. (Im not dismissing the need for protein which is very important for us all - I eat mostly eggs, goats cheese, sometimes chicken.) But that week I felt great, didnt suffer adrenal symptoms (to be fair these are better controlled in recent years) and I think my liver and digestive system really appreciated it.
So I think the toxic hunger theory may be on the right lines. I have noticed the more I eat of heavy meat based foods the more I feel hungry. (I dont think this can be because of my stomach growing because Im not talking eating in excess nor am I overweight).
Scientifically, you'll know it's toxic hunger if you feel you're having low blood sugar, but your glucose levels test normal. The other way to know is to drastically cut down on the amount of animal products you're eating and those hypoglycemic-like symptoms disappear as what happened in my case.
Also be aware that if someone does check and shows they have true hypoglycemia, that is most likely caused by under-eating.
I agree with everything you said. It gets depressing reading the forum when you see people who have been on here for 5 years and are still dealing with parasites or whatever it may be and are still using different herbal methods. Not knocking them by any means but just wondering if anyone has actually seen a specialist about their issues.
