Is there any reason not to try doxycycline for 2 weeks for possible lyme's? I don't konw that I have lyme's but I do have some of the symptoms like cracking joints and fatigue and depression/anxiety. Never noticed a bite mark or rash but I do live in tick country. I have the oppurtunity to give it 2 week trial run so if I could get some feedback that would be helpful
If you do have it and catch it in the early stages it will save you a lot of suffering and misery. You have nothing to lose trying it, but you may need longer than two weeks. I myself would go for it. But totally your choice. Best wishes.
I may be wrong but I believe if you ate diagnosed within the first 3 mths you will hopefully have a full recovery with the doxy, every month after this allows the lymes to infiltrate other organs making it harder for the doxy to access. It will play havoc with your immune system allowing co infections to set up shop.
What they typically say is if you catch it in the first 30 days and treat aggressively with doxy for 30-45 days then you can eradicate it BUT if you don't catch it then welcome to chronic lyme world...sorry.
