Pylori like all urease positive bacteria produce ammonia and bicarbonate when the urease enzyme works on urea in saliva. If you consider the amount of hydrochloric acid the stomach produces each day and any acids that you eat/consume a great deal of ammonia is produced. Most would be absorbed into the blood stream so I do not know how that could reach your colon.
Have you had a test for Pylori? It might not be pylori but it could be another urease positive bacteria. Pylori is not alone for colonising the stomach and neutralizing stomach acid.
Belching when eating is the give away due to carbon dioxide produced when the bicarbonate produced by the bacteria reacts with acid. You can get the same result by drinking an acid drink such as ACV or lemon juice. Anything more than a brief amount of wind after swallowing could mean that there is urease activity going on.
