Yea. I guess I didn't notice the post, but there seems to have been a third person having had success with Azathioprine (which is the active ingredient of Imuran;
Imuran is just one specific product name).
I was told that she also had Chron's disease and therefore was on Azathioprine, but also on Remicade which is another drug that alters the immune response.
So it's not clear which one or maybe even if the combination of both did the trick, but after 8 months she was seeing results. Not sure how good the results were and if it cleared completely. She's not on Facebook anymore, so I guess we'll never know.
I try not to remove too much of the build up to cause as little inflammation/trauma as possible, but sometimes I do help it come off, especially your "white line", which is just the border of the EC area that gets soaked with saliva more often and therefore gets white and more visible than other areas. The Calendula ointment also helps in the build up not becoming all too thick and crusty.
I hope that not causing all too much inflammation by not removing a lot of build up is enough. If the majority of the inflammation comes from the immune response, which I think is the case, Azathioprine is hopefully going to get rid off that, therefore reducing the amount of build up over time. We'll see if that's going to happen. I'll update here every once in a while (if there is anything to update about).
