Treatments fail for Lyme sufferers often due to hidden factors.

The main one being porphyria. Any overgrowth (Lyme bacteria, Candida, Protozoan parasites, etc.--or the overuse of drugs, herbs etc., according to Dr Rochlitz will in some 20% of us result in chronic porphyria. See wellatlast dot com

The person then becomes more chronically ill and more "allergic" to foods, supplements, drugs, env. chemicals, stress, sun, etc.

Supplements are often problematic because they induce Cytochrome P450 enzymes [heme proteins] which wlll then trigger porphyria in many people [whether or not they have been "officially diagnosed]. Porphyria, especially what's called the chronic smoldering form, is the most underdiagnosed illness in the world. And the author does not promise instant, permanent cures or such. But vast improvment is likley if we do the things recommended. Rochlitz's books though are not for those who still believe there is some simple magic single pill cure.

Instead of being labeled a "rare disease", the chronic form may occur in a high percentage of those who think they are forever battling chronic lyme, or chronic Candida etc., etc.

I have read now all of Rochlitz's books. They are far ahead of the field--as far as getting to the actual causative factors and what to do about them.
