Ok so this whole BS ordeal started since the beginning of this year and nothing is working for me! I keep having heart palpitations almost nonstop, if I sit still and try to relax I can feel my head and upper body vibrating b/c of the heart pounding/thumping feeling (I have normal range pulse). it's so annoying and disruptive it's pissing me off
there were a few days during the holidays when I ate caffeine foods (dark chocolate, coffee beans etc). I've never been much of a caffeine consumer, only some chocolate here and there, otherwise I never drink coffee or take stimulants
I've never had adverse reactions to caffeine before except maybe slightly noticeable heartbeat and feelings of bliss/contentment.
then eventually last year there were a couple days where I probably consumed 'too much' caffeine & developed panic attack symptoms for the first time in the evening (I'm a slow caffeine metabolizer). symptoms like pounding heart, tight chest/throat, shakiness/chills. It happened twice last year and after those symptoms went away I was normal again, calming down helped
however on the new year I again consumed too much caffeine again plus a margarita one day (I think I'm sensitive to it as well) and had the worst time ever that evening, panic attack symptoms, awake all night, afraid to fall asleep, afraid of dying/having a heart attack, just in fear and terror. my blood pressure fluctuated a lot, however my pulse was in normal range. this lasted over 24 hours. eventually this subsided but ever since that horrible day/night I never fully recovered from this anymore! drinking lots of water didn't work. one time I woke up with anxiety attack symptoms again for no reason, and had an elevated pulse too for a moment (115 bpm). now I'm getting these anxiety attack symptoms for "no reason" or out of the blue
I was also frequently angry/frustrated about something during that time so it must've been stress + caffeine combined
On and off I'm getting symptoms of tightness in chest or collarbone region, but mostly heart palpitations (pounding feeling)....same anxiety attack symptoms but for no reason! they seem to happen more in the evening/night. I know anxious thoughts cause those symptoms mostly but still also for no good reason
Now I hate going to bed. I go to bed late b/c I'm guaranteed the same f***ing palpitations nonstop. they prevent me from sleeping well...if I'm finally dosing off I'm suddenly jolted awake from a muscle spasm or whatever
I avoid all caffeine, alcohol, reduced Sugar a lot, gluten free, mostly grain free, take Sea Salt too for electrolytes. I was suggested & given GABA and chamomile tea from an ND after a random panic attack one morning...but they don't stop the tightness/palpitations even when I'm drowsy
I tried: Epsom Salt footbath, magnesium supplements, Iodine food (seaweed), sublingual B12, accupressure massage on the wrists, heart mudra, just trying to get my vitamins etc etc but NOTHING is stopping my palpitations.
I think they're from underlying stress/anxiety...but I've always been anxious/Type A and never in my life had these symptoms until this year ever since that one horrible 24+ hour panic episode.
What's worse is that whenever I notice the palpitations are gone...just noticing this, or even thinking about having them makes them start again!! I can't stop this cycle
why is nothing working for me?! my heart keeps thumping or 'pounding' WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?
PLEASE can someone help! did I develop a panic/anxiety disorder that's causing palpitations for the first time ever? Can caffeine cause this disorder even if from just a single use (I've never been a coffee drinker)?
WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME? what can I f*cking do to stop the damn palpitations for good even when I think about them (this always triggers them again) even relaxation exercises don't help much, either they gradually go away without my awareness until I think of them again
someone please help :``( is there a cure for me?!!

I'm curious can a caffeine induced panic episode cause 'damage' with heart function? during my all night panic my highest ever BP I measured was 170/110, but also fluctuated down to 100 lowest systolic & 53 diastolic while trying to calm down..my BP was pretty erratic. I was told by ND this is due to electrolyte/brain chemical imbalance or something. however my pulse was normal range mostly 60-80 bpm. my typical 'normal' BP has always been around 100/60 range
is everything OK with me?

This is a reply to # 2,306,605I don't claim to know what you should do but I'll share a few thoughts.
I suggest that you look into more liver support.
I had heart palps while taking just 17mg DHEA after my doc tested my sex hormones and suggested that I take 25mg. I also had gumpy old man personality and deep raspy voice.
Cutting back to 12mg stopped the symptoms for a number of days but the symptoms returned. I cut back again to maybe 6mg and again the symptoms stopped for a number of days.
I finally settled on just 10mg pregnenolone--upstream from dhea--and 6mg DHEA twice per week. It gave me the positive sensation I liked from the DHEA but without any negative side effects.
There is a possible link between DHEA and what you are experiencing--sluggish liver sulfation, maybe other liver detox pathways too.
Chocolate is high in phenols. Look them up. They and adrenaline-like chemicals in the body need sulfation for detox. Some sex hormones do as well.
Sulfation support includes Epsom Salt, molybdenum, glucosamine sulfate.
I'd try to include some niacinamide--more if requested.
You might also try to find out which liver Phase II pathway is involved in breakdown of caffeine.
Maybe Calcium D Glucarate would be worth trying to support the related liver pathway.
Don't forget magnesium, maybe in the glycinate form.
Getting enough zinc? It can help to keep copper from becoming too high.

This is a reply to # 2,306,613I've been tested before both by conventional doctor tests and & by two naturopaths and they all found my liver is normal. I don't feel there's a problem there, unlike my mother who has multiple chemical sensitivities and fat digestion issues.
I do know I'm a slow caffeine metabolizer, found out through a genetic test my sister took, we're twins
we all 3 got tested before by a naturopath with a program called Accugraph, (vaguely) checks the general state of your organs through accupuncture points and I feel it is a dead accurate test, it found my problem organs which I knew about all along, stomach & small intestine...and apparently low kidney function which I didn't know about.
But this had nothing to do with causing my anxiety symptoms/palpitations. It started with the caffeine consumption over the holidays and probably left me with some kind of chronic anxiety disorder

I'm not critical of anything above but I suspect you are reading too much into the results.
I would not expect your liver results--enzymes-- on typical blood tests to be problematic. I'm not refering to that type of liver problem.
I'm also not referring to the "electrical" problem that is most likely being tested in acupuncture. Dr J Tennant has a facinating video on that subject, including his own recovery from a terminal illness.

I suspect it is somewhat like a person who complains that their diswasher is not cleaning dishes well. They get the electrician in and he says the dishwasher is fine--from an electrical standpoint.
A repairman from the manufacturer comes in and says the machine is not breaking down mechanically--like the liver enzymes test.
However the problem with the inadequately washed dishes is that you are not adding dish washing detergent! That is a chemistry problem, not problem with the electrical system or mechanical functions of the diswasher.
I'm suggesting that you could be deficient in normal, helpful chemicals that your liver needs to detoxify natural and other chemicals that tend to amp us up. This includes sulfate, methyl donors, etc.
I'm not pretending to know that this is your problem. I'm just sharing leads with you that I've heard from others, from my own experience and from the theoretical chemistry.
I'm surprised that the naturopath did not discuss sulfation, methylation and other Phase II liver processes with you.
Acetylation might be the Phase II process involved in breakdown of caffeine. I too have that problem and it runs in the family.

This is a reply to # 2,306,605These symptoms are also the symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Have your furnace checked and consider that you may have an exhaust leak in your car.
You can't smell it or see carbon monoxide. Constant exposure to even small amounts does long term damage.
Try to correlate when the symptoms occured and what you did and what you were around in the 24 hours before the symptoms. The only treatments I know of is oxygen and hyperbaric treatments.
A DX can test for the CO in your blood but it is painful. They take a blood sample by sticking a syringe deep into your wrist to sample the arterial blood. Hurts like a bitch but it would be your only confirmation.
It was the only time in my life I ever experienced panic attacks.

No one else in my family has these symptoms and we all live together. If you read my post, I said these symptoms started after/during the period I consumed caffeine and had those panic attacks
I get these symptoms even when I'm outside somewhere so it can't be what you said
Idk why these symptoms are recurring everyday now ever since those particular anxiety attack incidences, even long after avoiding all stimulants and the fact that I've never been a regular caffeine user. so it's not like I'm in withdrawal. I can't figure out why this is

But buy magnesium oil spray off of amazon. Take a hot shower before you use it like 60 mins before bed.

This is a reply to # 2,306,676I tried Magnesium oil but found each time that I got the tight chest/anxiety and palpitations still after using it. It had the opposite effect on me as supposed to relaxing. I've looked around online and apparently there are other people out there who experienced the same and I have no idea why.
Idk if I'm subconsciously expecting to get these reactions so often, afraid that all these things will trigger my symptoms
I just want to find a way to undo all this, feel safe and secure again and be able to relax and feel normal like before. How am I supposed to relax and heal without fear?- Re: NOTHING works for my heart palpi... diamondes3

Not for my heart but the way I met Simon was two docs (md) I know had heart palpitations and ran into dr yu who tested them and discovered it was a bad tooth (which they pulled) and 15 years later no heart palpitations.
One was an oral surgeon and just missed the tooth connection-the other is a lyme doc who also didn't believe Dr Yu but tried it anyway-he told me a cup of smelly pus came out
Once a month they get a guy in there with heart palpitations-make an appointment

This is a reply to # 2,306,605There are several issues:
1/ I would outline any changes in environment such as some of things mentioned previously such as carbon monoxide, new carpet, new furniture, changes in water supply, medications if any. You have some type of toxicity in the system setting off the adrenals.
2/ The adrenals respond to any change in homeostatis and are an integral part in keeping the body in balance. Under normal conditions the body can keep itself in balance but if there are excessive stresses or inadequate nutrient intake then there are changes and these changes force the adrenals to pump out more hormones.
If you lack adequate output of the adrenals then things start going wrong.
3/ Electrolytes are vital to the body and include magnesium, potassium, sodium and chloride. The cardio and adrenals share these elements in common so if you having adrenal issues then cardio could be affected.
Magnesium is a central element and is tricky due to a number of factors including kidney re absorption, endocrine disturbances and other co-factors. High Absorption Magnesium by Doctors Best is very good. Magnesium is not created equal in that the elemental form of magnesium is bound to something else, this changes the complexion of bioavailability, absorption and utilization.
Vitamin D levels should be checked since it is one of the co-factors of magnesium. I would consider the other co-factors such as the B vitamins.
Toxicity can be controlled with products. I like resultsrna zeolite spray, been a faithful product for many years. Antioxidants such as Vitamins C & E are very beneficial.
Reduce stressors in your life by recognizing them and planning a course of action.

My best bet is that fluoride is behind your symptoms....fluoride will fu..ck up thyroid..
Maybe go for anti-fluoride protokol , iodine, boron, tamarind,selen,vit c, magnesium.
FLUORIDE INACTIVATES MAGNESIUM .and is general mineral disruptor....
hypothyroidism have heart palpations....
