"DAMASCUS, SYRIA (5:15 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army’s elite Tiger Forces resumed their operation in the last ISIS-held pocket west of the Euphrates earlier today.
Backed by allies and units from the SAA’s 5th Corps, the Tigers were able to sweep through the city of Al-Jalaa which is ISIS’s largest stronghold between Mayadeen and Albukamal.
The Tigers’ advance would not stop there as they steamrolled through the villages of Al-Ramadi and Ba’an which neighbor Al-Jalaa.
The latest advance places he Syrian Army approximately 10 km from their counterparts in Albukamal. Once the road is opened between Albukamal and Deir Ezzor, the main land route between Iraq and Iran to Syria will be operational- a route that would stretch from Tehran to Beirut.
The strategic implications of such a development are of biblical proportions in relation to the Syrian war and the geopolitical conflicts in the region.
The government forces will likely turn their eyes to Idlib once they’re done expelling ISIS from the Euphrates."
