Ten days is a standard MC. Your body does a lot of excellent work during a fast this long, and it is enough for most people.
I am a special case, and have done extra long (40 day, 60 day) fasts for the express purposes of colon cleansing (I had solid stuff coming out at day 57!!).
I would not recommend a fast past 20 days without professional supervision. This would be the time to consult with the pro that recommended you do the Master-Cleanse
for your specific problems, and formulate a game plan. If he thinks a longer Master-Cleanse
would benefit you, go for it! There are metabolic issues involved with a long fast (I lost hair for two months following my 60 day cleanse), and a longer fast entails a long, tricky break. I had a couple of crises during long fasts (passed a small kidney calcification at one point) which really did require support! Consult with your natural health professional, who can prepare and support you.
I would not put that much stock in the pink tongue. My tongue never went pink until well into my SECOND long fast! You may have much work to do, but do not necessarily have to do it all in one long haul!
This summer I did a series of ten day fasts, rather than one looooonnng thing! I would fast ten, eat a cleansing diet ( Liver Flush
during this period) for ten, fast ten... I have done five tens and had planned to do one more... but am thinking at this point to let my body rest until the new year. The series was MUCH easier on my body than 60 straight, and MUCH easier to break. I had excellent results.
So.... there are a lot of factors. Whatever you decide, now is the time to start planning your post-fast diet and EXERCISE to keep your body on the right track! Your pro knows you and is best equipped to help you make these decisions.
Meanwhile, fast on!
