Just read detour's post about Dr. Christopher and cayenne. Thought I'd let you know about another book hailing the benefits of cayenne. It's "Left for Dead" by Dick Quinn. He had a bypass that didn't work and was pretty much given a death sentence. Then someone told him to try cayenne and it changed his life.
I read the book at least 10 years ago. That's when I bought a capsule maker and started making my own. I was real good about taking it until I got lazy about making the capsules (and it's really so easy). I have been taking cayenne off and on over the years and started again when I started the cleanses last fall. Unfortunately, I don't get as many of the instant benefits as Dr. Christopher and Dick Quinn talk about, but I can definitely tell when I'm taking it. It works as a quick pick-me-up if I'm feeling tired and I'm sure it's helped my insides in ways I don't even know. So now, with the lemonade, I just take a whole capsule ('00' size) with each serving. There's about 1/4 tsp in each capsule.
When I first read about The Master Cleanse, I was impressed that cayenne was included and that's kind of what told me it must be a good thing.
So...just thought I'd pass this on. It is an interesting book.
