Hi Shelley,
For my possible kidney issues, I tried some parsley tea as you suggested yesterday - not bad - it's weird because the "recipe" I saw said you could add honey or something sweet and I added a speck of salt (it is a vegetable after all!) Instead of throwing away the seeped parsley, I added it to my lunch. I also bought some cranberry juice (the real stuff). I feel like I have too many types of things to drink! I guess there's something to be said about variety. :)
Anyway, I am not on any particular program and need to continue with bowel management. P&B shakes tend to really constipate me, but I'd like to have the fiber. For the past two days in the morning, I've taken a teaspoon each of the P& B in rice milk (along with Udo's Choice and cinnamon - is that okay?) Last night, I used the same measurements in apple juice too. Not constipated yet.
I'm a little confused as to what causes the constipation - I thought it was the psyllium, but then I think I read it was the bentonite. I also think that I should be increasing the dosage or at least the frequency for it to do any good. I have flax seeds around if they'd be better. What do you suggest?
I plan to try the Colonix program in September and I'll use triphala while I'm in India during most of August, but I want to keep things moving during the interim. Thanks!
Laura
