Shelley- I've been grinding a tablespoon or two each of flax seeds, sunflower seeds, and pumpkin seeds in my coffee grinder at night, pouring into a thermos and adding a few raisins and a sprinkle of cinammon. Then in the morning on the way out the door I boil some water and pour it in. I drink this for breakfast on the commute to work (I do have to keep shaking the thermos to keep the powder suspended). It's sort of a mix between a hot tea and a (drinkable) oatmeal breakfast...
Questions: 1) Does pouring the boiling water over the ground seeds affect the nutritional / other benefits of the seeds, and
2) I always drink bottled purified / spring water - except for when making hot beverages - how bad is it to use boiled tap water - should I be boiling bottled water instead???
