I've posted a solution to better live with this condition.
All the 3 steps described are important.
About step 2 : Avene lip balm is a good balm http://www.aveneusa.com/consumers/products/lipbalm_cold_cream.asp
but there are probably other lip balms that are effective.

MoreThis is a reply to # 376,881hi have u had ALL of your fillings taken out now?... i dont have any fillings...but i think yours could be an allergic reaction cos u mentioned that your gums are irritated too and this peeling thing just randomly happened to you.

No, I think that I have used an inappropriate creme, or it was the consequence of a sunburn. The bottom lip started to peel only 5 years after the upper one.
has anything stopped the peeling or skin from being generated?...hydrocortisone?..corticosteriods?
corticosteriods (I have tried Protopic and Dermovate) make the thing worse : it extends the peeling area from about a millimeter (+1 mm)

alesiom, have you noticed that somtimes your lips will be much better throughout the week if you just change your attitude? I know this from my personal experiances that when my attitude is happier about myself and if i actually believe im normal my condition is hardly noticable.
