The Master Cleanse
is based on the book by Stanley Burroughs that you can pick up from your local health food store. It consists of lemonade made of 10 ounces
of spring water, 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice (organic preferred), 2 tablespoons of grade B maple syrup (organic preferred) and 1/10 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (liquid mixes better). Drink at least 6 glasses of lemonade per day whenever you get hungry for at least 10 days. Take Psyllium and Bentonite
(P & B shakes)mixed with about 10 ounces
of lemonade at night and drink laxative tea or salt water flush in the mornings everyday of the cleanse. The salt water flush is 32 ounces
of warm spring water with 2 teaspoons of uniodized Sea Salt
. Drink it straight down and within an hour it will flush you out (reminds you of an enema). You can drink non-cafeinated herbal teas during the day, such as peppermint and chamomile. I did colonics
while on the cleanse which is not recommended in the book, but I felt like dancing in the streets after the colonics. The first 3 days are the hardest, but after that it is a breeze. The fast is ended with orange juice for the first day and orange juice and homemade veggie soup/orange juice for days 2 and 3.
I did a pre-cleanse of only fruits and veggies, the P & B shakes at night and the laxative tea or SWF (Salt-Water-Flush)
in the mornings for a week before the cleanse. It made the transition to the cleanse a breeze. What I couldn't believe is how good I felt and I even went out with friends to Leona's and ordered herbal tea.
