I've had a severe candida problem for over 13 years, and only recently have I gotten the proper diagnosis and treatment. I am beginning to see some symptoms in my 6-year-old son, and I strongly suspect that he may have a candida problem. I have been giving him supplements of acidophilus, however, I just read in another website that this bacteria is harmful for young children, and they should be given only bifidobacteria. I am certain that my son somehow acquired his candida problem from me, and I believe my wife is also showing some signs. My candida problem has taken it's toll on our marriage, and since my wife and I do not communicate very well as a result, this would explain why she has not been very receptive to my theory. I am VERY worried about my son. I do not want to see him go through the hell I have endured for so long, especially at his young age. I am also very worried about my wife. It seems that I am the only one who sees the problem, yet it is impossible to do anything about it without my wife's cooperation. I have been able to find a good doctor for myself, and progress has been slow over the past year, but steady. Does anyone know for sure if candida is contagious? And if so, how is it transmitted?
