WHAT IS A colonic IRRIGATION?
A colonic Irrigation using the gravitational method is an internal bath that helps cleanse the Colon of Fecal Matter.

A person receiving the colonic lies on a Special Colema-Board which is about 32" below the Temperature-Controlled water flow. A Sterilized Speculum is gently inserted in the Rectum. Water flow, which is always under the control of the Practitioner, flows into the Colon via a small water tube and out through the evacuation tube carrying with it Impacted Feces and Mucous. As the water flows out of the Colon the Practitioner gently Massages the Abdomen to help the Colon release its contents. It is possible to see this Expelled Waste Matter in the catch basin at the end of the process. The person is well covered and their modesty is given TOP PRIORITY during the procedure. The number of treatments required always varies with the individual and her/his prevailing condition. Often the waste is so hard and well loaded in the Colon that it may take a series of seven colonics to sufficiently soften and loosen this Accumulated Fecal Material. Some people may not have startling results for the first few treatments. That is why a series of at least three treatments is recommended as well as advisable.
You will be given instructions for proper exercise and diet of Non-Mucous producing foods. Fresh fruits, Vegetables and certain Herbs are suggested to help loosen and dissolve accumulated fecal matter. The suggested series of treatments would be two colonics per week for seven weeks.

The normal intestinal flora will NOT be disturbed. One of the functions of the first half of the Colon is to gather the Intestinal Flora needed for the Colon. Hi Charlie
Our digestive system is continuous with the atmosphere and accordingly exposed to bacteria, virus and what else is in the atmosphere. They get into the digestive system from the mouth to the anus and some reside, others just passing through. Particularly those that reside in the intestines are known as intestinal flora.
Intestinal flora may be good or bad bacteria, etc. Our digestive system needs good bacteria to help it break down food, digest and absorb the nutrients. Thank you for answering. My next question, then, is; How do we adequately replace the lactic bacteria? From what I'm learning, cow's milk isn't good for us, either (my 8 year old daughter is already developing breasts from the BGH in the milk we buy in the grocery store). Where do we get a suitable replacement?
As for the BGH in the milk & beef products, I understand it like this: These growth hormones are, in effect, identical to the illegal steroids that professional atheleted were using to bulk themselves up. Beef "manufacturers" inject what equates (in my mind) to be steroids in the cattle. Now, if the atheletes were developing cancers from their steroid use, it only makes sense that the same MUST be true of the bovines. This same cancer is being cut up and sold to us as food which, in turn, makes us develop cancer thus driving the incidents of cancer in humans to an all-time high. (Sounds like a wild Conspiracy between the cattle growers & the oncologists of America.)
Am I on the right track, here?

Yes, very good question.
There are numerous probiotic products out there. There are the one strain acidophillus in "freeze dried" powder or tablet form. There is also the liquid yoghurt or other liquid form that may have 2-4 strains. Then there is just one 100% live active bacteria with 12 stains. These can go to work immediately and effects felt quickly. Of course, whichever you choose, you must also make sure they are protected when consumed that they are not destroyed by the strong stomach acids. Bacteia count, though important, need not be in the billions. My view is that if they are good quality, anything from 50 to 100 million will suffice.
The reason you need multi-strains because different strains work at different regions of the intestines - large n small. Then there are colonizing (permanent) which is important and transient which is equally important. The colonizing prevents harmful and pathogenic bacteria from coming back to create problems and allow recurrence.
What you choose will depend on how important you think your health and its maintenance is. Obvlously, the better quality would be most expensive but more effective and perhaps in the long run cheaper??

The acidophilus will have a much better chance of thriving if you take live culture FOS (fructooliosaccharide). Taking the FOS actually replenishes your intestinal tracts naturally occuring flora, and makes it easier for the acidophilus to thrive and destroy harmful bacteria. It will also make it easier for your body to assimilate the nutrients from the foods you eat. A colonic won't necessarily destroy the good bacteria. One of the questions you'll want to have an answer to is whether or not the colonic adminstrator is using plain tap water. If they are, then you will have beneficial organisms destroyed by the chlorine and other additives. A colonic will help flush out the putrefied matter that parasites thrive in, and make it easier for the beneficial bacteria to reproduce and flourish.

I am 61 years old and was raised on cows milk, we had our own cow. I started to develop breasts when I was seven
and didn't come near a hormone except my Scandinavian genes. So I am not so sure that this is the reason for

To properly answer your question:
i) replactement of probiotics(?) - just get a very good quality probiotic, one that contains live lactic bacteria to be sure of the bacteria count with multi-strains (especially colonizing ones)! Need to take regularly to keep the numbers up and healthy
ii) I dont think that cow's milk, per se, is bad or contains growth hormones. I believe it is how the cow was bred and what it was fed with which then gets into the milk and given to us. Like GEM food? Just need to make sure that the milk you are taking comes from a cow that has not been given growth hormone, etc. Then again, how do you identify it without appropriate labeling - too many unknowns here!

This is a reply to # 64,413I just read the posts about colonics and how they are administered. I was wondering how the tubes and machinery are cleansed (sterilized) between each patient. I understand the mother of a friend of mine contracted hepatitis C from the dialysis machine because the tubes were not properly cleansed. Now I am wondering if one could catch something worse than one's precipating problem by chosing colonics. Surely hepatitis or aids could lurk in tubing that was not properly sterilized.
How do you address this concern and protect all patients?

Ileo-secal valve is the end of the colon.
The rest is small intestine, and you should not introduce colon bacteria into the small intestine.

I have searched the internet for information on how to purchase colon cleansers. Today, I found the CureZone and would like to receive as much information as I can on this situation I am dealing with.
I would like to know where there is a practitioner that administers colonic irrigations in the vicinity of Charlotte, NC? I live in a small town just west of Charlotte. I've seen reference to this illness at many sites...
Seems colon cleansing or colonics aren't enough to rectify or heal... you need fasting too at the same time, and you need to do all of that a few times... and then it is over, that is what I read... can't remember where, which site, reading a great testimonial by some woman who suffered for over 20 years and now claims total healing has occured... well, you probably can find more info on the internet... so much information everywhere. I just love it! :-)

This is a reply to # 64,412I have a friend who got colonics & found that they wiped her out. colonics are very invasive and are washing away a lot of good gut bacteria and electrolytes. Maybe you can replace those with diet & taking oral probiotics - but how do we know that for sure? What actual research has been done? None as far as I can tell.
Yes, you can see a lot of gunk go out with colonics. But you can't see the microscopice good guys flowing out along with it. You can't see if your otc probiotics are really replacing them or not.
There is currently a lot of research that seems to indicate that poor gut flora not only can cause mental & emotional problems for the individual, but even for the children who come through the birth canal picking up the flora of the mother, good or not so good. (See Nature Magazine & Dr. Campbell on the subjects of mental health & autism as they relate to gut flora. I'm not saying she's right, just saying "a lot of new research indicates".
Things like Blessed Herbs, Oxypowder (I personally found too much of that to be draining too), Bentonite clay & psyllium can help clean out the colon without wiping out good bacteria & gut flora. Mho that's the safer route to go.Advertisement
