I had real problems with the Epsom Salts
-- i.e. they made me gag and I could not get the morning dose down. (Hence the search for alternatives!) (Although I am not sure there is an alternative to the Magnesium for opening up the bile ducts, though one of these recipes suggested mag. citrate -- I haven't tried it, but it has to be better than just the salts.)
One thing I recommend is buying some capsules and using them for the ES doses. That was fairly helpful to me, though I still had problems swallowing 10 large capsules. (There were two sizes at the health-food-store in the bulk department and I got the larger ones.) Ten of the large capsules = one dose of the ES, so you need 40 altogether.
Somewhere, I came across a post that said you could reduce the amount of ES, so I thought about that when I couldn't finish the last few capsules!
I have stopped Liver Flushing
until I can do the Humaworm parasite
cleanse, which I plan on doing if and when my babies ever stop nursing. I did try the coffee enema
and I would not rule that out categorically -- I found it a lot simpler for me than the ordeal of the liver flush. (i.e. with two small children running around, it is easier for me to take 20 minutes to do the coffee enema
than the evening/night/morning-near-the-toilet procedure for the standard LF.
Good luck -- I do think there is some value in the Liver-Flush
and I look forward to returning to it, though parasite-free (eventually, I hope!).
