I don't know much about probotics and I bought a product called PB 8. It was $13 for 30 and in capsule form and not refrigerated. Is this too cheap a price to pay for a probotic? I know yogurt is constipating and I have started taking Miralax a few days ago. I wonder if this probotic or will even a good brand probotic interfer with the laxative? I have been afraid to take it and I sure would appreciated any reply before I do. Thanks
I assume that you mean to use after the MC as you should not be taking it on the cleanse as that would stimulate the digestive system and work against the main operating mode of ANY fast which is to give the digestive system a rest.
Kefir is excellent and my favorite. It is superior to yoghurt in that it has like 8 beneficial bacterial strains to yoghurts one. I addition the bacterial strain in yoghurt is transient and won't colonize in the gut as will the strains in Kefir. Kefir is also less mucous forming. It can also be made with non dairy products like coconut milk.
Thank you both for your replies.
I haven't tried the master cleasnse yet as I want to have a doctor examine me first for cancer or other serious problems I could be having with the constipation and bloody hard stool. If I don't have any serious problems, then I will take your advice and try one of those probotics. They sound like they are better.
Pepe, I also drink kefir every morning. It is nice to hear someone on this site that drinks that. Isn't it wonderful. Have you read Sally Fallon? I am assuming so. I go by that way of eating quite a bit, but it is so time consuming and expensive I have become a bit overwhelmed with it. I feed my 19 month old nothing but, but I have had to take a back seat.
Well, cheers to kefir! (and flavored stevia of course)
I make a morning drink that consists apple juice, kefir, hemp oil, a green supplement and cacao powder. It is delish. Sometimes as a treat in the evenings I mix some Kefir and apple juice in a wine glass. I find Kefir and apple juice together real tasty.
It can be a bit overwhelming with all the info and books and add to it that many contradict each other so one has to find the one that resonates for you and dive in. That is still no guarantee cause it will always be a work in progress as you keep experimenting to find your own groove that suits you and your lifestyle
