Two friendly strains proven to survive and colonize the intestines are lactobacillus casei and lactobacillus rhamnosus GG, rhamnosus is actually a casei-type but slightly different.
Bifidobacterias aren't really recommended to supply if you try to recolonize the guts cause they don't belong in the small intestine and doesn't have the diplomatic scrutiny as Lactobacillus casei, rhamnosus and acidophilus.

So make a try with casei's, i've had good result with those.
