I am just reading some of these old posts and wanted to add two foods that you might consider -- apple cider vinegar and kefir. ACV is great topically and also our girls love it in salad dressing. Kefir has a slightly stronger taste than yogurt, but is supposed to be even better than yogurt cultures, too. I am not sure if you all eat dairy but if you do, kefir is worth considering.
I read about the shark oil and I am pretty convinced that a good fish-oil supplement will be just as beneficial, especially given your religious guidelines.
I would definitely try the coconut oil and the other thing that is great is iodine...have you looked at the Iodine forum for info on Iodine and eczema? Loads.
