Hopinso, what you describe is not too far different than the gentle method Richard Schulze has for introducing a newby to the idea of liver & gallbladder flushing. It's based on a simple 5-day protocol.
Day 1 - juice 8 ounces of fresh-juiced fruit juice, apple being a good one since this is a juice generally well tolerated even by squeamish people easily nauseated. People need to remember that just like fresh-juiced juice, olive oil is a concentrated liquid. Continuing on with Day 1, mix the 8 ounces of fresh juice with 8 ounces water, distilled preferred. Then take 1 clove of fresh raw garlic and puree in a blender with 1 tablespoon of good quality organic olive oil. Then mix all of these ingredients and drink - this is approximately 16 ounces of water/juice mixed in with 1 tablespoon of oil and 1 garlic clove. Take a few minutes to drink it all down, giving a little time to chew it before swallowing. Chewing juice, as silly as it sounds, stimulates salivary glands which help to add digestive fluid from the mouth that is a critical preliminary step that sets up proper digestion.
The above is suggested for starting the day shortly after waking up from the previous night's sleep.
Day 2 - same as day 1 with the only difference being the use of 2 cloves of Garlic blended with 2 tablespoons of Olive-Oil then added to the 16 ounces of juice/water.
Day 3 - same as before with the only difference beingthe use of 3 cloves of Garlic blended with 3 tablespoons of Olive Oil.
Day 4 - return to using 2 cloves of Garlic and 2 tablespoons of Olive-Oil added to the 16 ounces of juice/water drink.
Day 5 - return to using 1 clove of Garlic and 1 tablespoon of Olive Oiil added tothe 16 hounces of juice/water drink.
Schulze advises the above 5-day liver & gallbladder flush to be simultaneously supplemented with a 5-day protocol of eating/drinking nothing but fresh juiced juices - both vegetable and fruit, in combination with raw fruits and vegetables eaten throughout the 5 days, plus herbal teas. He is of course a big advocate of drinking herb teas each and every day. He's also a big advocate of using distilled water for brewing teas. As he sees it, distilled is a perfect liquid for maximzing the natural qualities to be extracted out of whatever herb is being made into a tea. As a general rule, for people who will be alternately drinking juiced vegetables and juiced fruits during the same day, leave about 30 minutes gap in time between drinking one juice versus the next. This allows the one juice type - vegetable or fruit, to clear the upper digestitve tract before the next fruit or vegetable, is poured in to the stomach.
Just this morning I began this 5-day liver & gallbladder & juicing & raw routine. In the past I've never had problems drinking quantities of Olive Oil... maybe this is why I couldn't even tell there was Olive-Oil in the 16 ounce drink the morning began with. This method might very well help people who have problems with Olive Oil.
