I think the EFA's are the best supps for eyesight. We tried Iodine schemes and never seemed to get much "bang" for the "buck". Plus, we eat a lot of greens.
Mercola came on the scene after we had been chelating for quite a while, and his advice seemed sort of "feeble" when he first started, as compared to some of the highly developed "protocols" on the groups.yahoo.com that worked much better. I only mention this, because there's so many people trying to sell medical advice on the internet these days, it's difficult to sort them out if you don't know their history.
For example, I just recently saw a book about "Magnesium transdermal therapy" written by "Dr. Mark Sircus O.M.D"
I had to think about it, but I well remember this Sircus fellow first showing up on the Yahoo groups as Robin Sircus, then Mark Sircus, then (according to him) this elderly lady he stayed with in Brazil,"made him an HONORARY O.M.D." .....and now of course, he's DOCTOR Mark Sircus OMD, and publishing medical books!......lol. He changed his name from Robin to Mark because he had written a book about group love or something, and was trying to start over. It was hilarious.
Anyway, FWIW, we found flak seed to be more useful than fish oil, but mainly because of taste. The fish oil we buy now is 1000mg gelcaps and I don't get fishy burps for some reason, but we used Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) for chelation (it's an excellent binder of mercury) and we now supplement with 200mg of ALA daily, because there's trace amounts of mercury even in the "cleanest" fish oil. Salmon (the eating kind) is supposed to be low in mercury too, but I once lived near a salmon farm and they feed farmed salmon this stuff that looks like DOG FOOD, so hopefully they don't use farmed fish for fish oil. I don't know of ANY WAY to check that out, because most businesses buy supplies from distributors, and don't really know any more about the source than we do. Although CHINA is probably a pretty good default guess.
Well, time to get to work.......Y A W N
BTW, you don't have Amalgam fillings by any chance, do you?
