My Homemade Mineral/Electrolyte Drink
Years ago I nearly died from a severe electrolyte imbalance. The doctor gave me the wrong combination of blood pressure medication, plus I had a virus causing severe vomiting and diarrhea. When I lost consciousness I was rushed to the hospital in early stages of heart failure.
The treatment was very simple, I was put on IVs consisting of 5% dextrose (sugar), saline solution (salt) and a mineral mix consisting primarily of potassium. I was on the IVs for almost 20 hours to restore hydration and electrolyte mineral salts. By the time the treatment was over I felt fine, just a little weak.
After that expensive experience I began experimenting to make my own healthy drink. I knew I needed pure water, salt, a source of minerals the body can use and a sweetener. Here is the drink I now use, I have posted this on the
Liver Flush Forum to restore post-flush hydration; but it will work for
Miracle-Mineral-Supplement users too.
hopinso's mineral replacer:
two
quarts pure water (I use distilled)
3/4 cup fresh lemon juice-for plant based minerals
1/4-1/2 tsp natural
Sea Salt -trace minerals and make water easier absorbed by cells
1/2 cup natural sweetener (evaporated cane juice, Maple syrup, sorghum) provides minerals, plus
Sugar is important for absorption.
The
Science behind Gatorade is sound, but, it uses so many
additives for taste, appearance and preservation that I believe it is better to make your own drink.
