Re: Bullying and violence in schools

Off the top of my head, Sparque...what else is scary? Or, even scarier than hitting?

I'm thinking that maybe the responsibility for helping someone else with a math problem, or an art assignment, or the like, might be very scary.

And, a presigious award might be an Oscar to sit on the student's desk for the length of one class. (Maybe something from the Lost & Found...gilded...with a few lines of respect or humor, from the instructor...or thanks from the helped student.)

Just got up, and dreaming.

Maybe let the students turn in ideas of what is scary to them...and non-destructive. I'm remembering that 'speaking in public' is the scariest thing to most people. Maybe speaking to one not-too-scary person at a time would be a good place to begin.

Great question!
