Thank you for your post. I liked the linked showing the different results of the fasters. Fairly dramatic difference for some of them. Well I am overweight, but I figured the extreme sleep mode I was experiencing was reducing or stalling it. But on the other side, by being less active I feel I am able to continue the fast a day longer or perhaps more by the reduced activity. Since my primary goal is healing and detox that is what I hope is happening and the weightloss is a side bonus.
I know from reading Dr. Fuhrman's book that he actually does not advise overweight people to start with a fast but rather a good solid diet in his eat to live book. But in cases where there is an immediate need for healing purposes it is okay to fast first. I dread the slower metabolism once I end the fast period and hope that with minimal food or adequate raw choices, I can keep the gains in healing and the loss in weight.
