We imagine that because they are called stones that they are similar to stones found around us like a piece of limestone or chalk. Calcified stones are characterised by the property that they can be crushed by the force of the index finger and thumb. Some rarer pigment stones and Mercedes stones can be harder but they can be recognised by their appearance. Tweet
