thyroid success?

Hi there,
I have just been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and would love to know if anyone has seen any improvement on UT with this type of disease. Alternatively, any theories on why it SHOULD or SHOULD NOT be effective in my situation?
(PS: my thyroid is over-active)
Apparently, the condition is caused by too many toxins in the body ie. poor digestion which leads to absorption of toxins, poor liver function etc. etc...)
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...
