Will it cause hyper thyroid?

Hi group,

OK so I know NOTHING really about iodine, so no laughing at my question please. ;-)

What I'm wondering is, if a person takes a pretty good dose of it on a regular basis, will they end up hyper thyroid? And by it, I mean like the Lugol I hear mentioned a bit.

See I want to begin Bob Becks protocols to address pathogens. But I also have a silver phobia (heavy metals) and won't use it so I need to find a quality anti-pathogen substitute.

I have been told to look into into Iodine as a possible substitute (herbs are not to be used on the program).

I do already use a lot of celtic Sea Salt too --- what amount of Iodine is there in that?
