Going under 27 volts

Hi every one

I have a odd problem, according to Dr Beck, it needs to have an output of 27v min, after a week of use it drops below that, rendering incapable, it can still be felt very strongly, how ever, being a purist, I go out and buy new batteries, and as you can imagine, is costing me quite a lot, I considered getting nimh batteries, but I dont think they would last very long either, being 250mah, I wished I got the sota unit as it has a dc-dc convertor, any way of fixing this problem up? is still effective under that voltage range?

thanks.
