it would seem you are mixing apples with oranges in your comparing the half life of the chlorite ion and chlorine dioxide. chlorine dioxide to rapidly reduced to chlorite in the body hence the relatively short life compaired with the chlorite ion 30plus hrs. I hope this clears up the discrepancy.
