When I got up this morning I investigated my gum tissue and the inside of my cheek. The cheek was almost healed and just sloughed off some remaing dead skin, the gum tissue looked raw but did not see much of anything else going on in there, other than it feeling real sore.
I went to the doc this afternoon. What he said is that whatever it was appears to be clearing up. He squeezed and pushed on it and did not see anything oozing out at this point so he did not recommend Antibiotics ...thank goodness! I was told to keep a close eye on it and to get to the ER if I start to spike another fever. He said no culture of the mouth, it's always inconclusive due to the amount of bacteria residiing in there to begin with.
I told him about the rinse with io and salt, he said keep doing that. I told him about the teabag drawing out a ton of infection, he did not look surprised. Just keep doing what you are doing.
Okay, so I don't know what sort of infection this was and will not say it was staph because we don't know! But it's healing up!! Thank you io, teabags and salt!!! Oh, I did use Grapefruit-Seed-Extract in the rinse yesterday, almost forgot about that.
