Re: Coldsore lumps stopped with Vit D

Can someone please tell me where you found the information that Vitamin D supplementation can cause cold sores?

I stopped using Vitamin D when I realized it was creating severe muscle aches, tingling burning in the nerves of my lower legs, occasionally sore swollen red palms and painful joints.

Then I read that you're supposed to take zinc & boron & fish oil along with Vitamin D.

So I supplemented with lots of minerals, and then took 20 grams of Vitamin D for three days in a row, and it feels like every molecule on my lips is about to erupt in multiple cold sores, AKA fever blisters. Even my tongue is sore!

I can't find anything at the Vitamin D Council about this, and when I try to find any reference to Cold Sores due to high dose Vitamin D on mercola.com -- nothing comes up on google.

What is in the Vitamin D that is creating similar reactions to spending the entire day in the sun & wind - which frequently has been mentioned as causing cold sores?

Why would a steroid called Vitamin D cause cold sores?

Why is it so hard to retrieve information about this online?

Thanks for any assistance.

Is there ever going to be any reliable research about side effects - BAD side effects - associated with Vitamin D?
