Re: Watermelon juice cured my eczema

In following your lead to find out what nutriments we might be missing that may be causing our eczema, I found this prior Curezone post:

The post mentions several nutritional deficiencies that may cause eczema, including zinc, vitamin C and beta carotene (Vitamin A.) Watermelon is high in Vitamin C and Vitamin A (beta carotene.) After reading an article that a zinc deficiency may cause eczema, earlier this week I started taking a zinc supplement (30mg.) Although it's only been a week since I began taking the zinc, my skin has been clear ever since. I'm beginning to think that a zinc deficiency may have been what was causing my eczema. Although one week clear of any new eczema outbreaks may not be long enough to declare victory, it's a hopeful beginning and taking the zinc supplement certainly hasn't hurt.

Also, here's the Wikipedia article on beta carotene:

The article mentions palm oil as being especially high in beta carotene. Interestingly, I mentioned in a previous post about how I had surprisingly good results after having accidentally put the palm oil from the Ojon tree in South America on my eczema. This palm oil is in the Ojon hair product, which I had previously bought from QVC, and is a thick, reddish brown paste. I didn't follow up with experimenting with the Ojon so much because it is very messy. The Ojon product is really for the hair, and is to be used as a hair conditioner, and I found applying it to my eczema to be messier than using the Doctors Defense, which I have had equally good success with. This article confirms, though, that I was on to something when I had the good results from accidentally applying the palm oil to the eczema.

I wanted to highlight the prior post from Curezone to give everyone the opportunity to look into their nutritional diets to see if a nutritional deficiency may be the cause of the eczema.
